My First Full Length Sweater

The pattern from the past that I decided to do is the hourglass sweater from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. The yarn I'm using is 100% alpaca Puno by Filatura Lanaroto that I picked up at the Smiley's yarn riot in Manhattan last month. It's going well and I can't wait to wear it!

Wonderful! I assume you know there have been some corrections to the pattern since the first edition of the book. They're available at purlsoho.com -- and here they are, too:

HOURGLASS SWEATER (pg 112)
A note on yarn requirements:
Many, but not all, knitters have found that they have run short on yarn by one or even two skeins when working this pattern. Please be sure to purchase one or two extra skeins of yarn for this project.

Pattern:
Under lower body, last line should read:
End last round 2 stitches before the beginning marker.

Decrease round should read:
*Ssk, k1, k2tog, knit to within 2 stitches of the next marker; repeat from *

Next paragraph should end:
End last round 1 stitch before the beginning marker.

Increase round should read:
*Kf&b (knit into front and back of same st to increase 1 st), k1, kf&b, k to within 1 stitch of the next marker, repeat from * once more -- 4 sts increased. Knit 13 rnds.

Under Yoke:
First paragraph should end:
End last round 2 stitches before the beginning marker.

Decrease round should read:
*Ssk, k1, k2tog, knit to within 2 stitches of the next marker; repeat from *
